Program Outline

The Scientific Organizing Committee is preparing an exciting and informative 3 day scientific program for the Congress.

The program will include 8 Plenary lecturers, more than 12 Invited Speakers spread over 12 symposia over a range of CAM subject areas, as well as up to 72 selected free communications and 180 posters.

Day 1 will feature workshops on special topics on site at a number of Complementary Medicines University and Hospital Centres around Sydney.  Days 2 and 3 will consist of scientific sessions at the Darling Harbour venue. These will consist of plenary lectures, symposia (with invited speakers and free communications), posters and special activities. The topic areas will include the following streams:

1.      Clinical Efficacy/therapeutic potential/integrated practices and interactions

2.      Development of herbal medicines: pharmacology, mechanisms of action and quality assurance

3.      The role of complementary medicine in health care systems (social, ethical and economic aspects). 

Within these areas will be covered Traditional Chinese Medicine, Western Herbal Medicine, Ayur
